- Frequently Asked Questions
Sony recently announced the release of their new Inzone M9 gaming monitor which happens to be Sony’s first gaming monitor on the market. Other peripherals under the new Inzone series which covers gaming monitors and accessories were announced. However, the M9 is currently the most outstanding device in the Inzone series.
For a while now, manufacturers such as Gigabyte, Asus, and the likes have ruled the gaming monitor market with their monitors while Sony is known for their game consoles, TVs, etc.
However, the release of the Inzone M9 seems to be a real game-changer as Sony has decided to serve us top quality at a pretty decent price.
Priced at $900, this monitor is arguably the best monitor under $1000 with the sort of specs it comes with. Other monitors with similar specs fall between $1000-$1200 or even more.
Even though said to have been designed to match the PlayStation 5, it’s great for PC, and Xbox gaming. Also, it’s a great choice for design or digital works.
Without further ado, let’s see what this thing packs.

The Inzone M9 features an elegant design with its white curved plastic rear panel and a black screen. The design matches the PlayStation 5 perfectly.
It features an angular-based VESA mount that can be adjusted up or down as you wish. However, the VESA mount doesn’t allow the monitor to swivel. It can’t be rotated into portrait mode. Except you get a monitor arm to mount it on, It’s stuck in landscape mode.
However, the design feels a bit unstable or shaky on the mount. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall off, but it’s still a bit shaky.
Also, there’s a space on the mount of this monitor where you can pass your cable through. This allows your cables to be neatly managed. However, this placement is really small. There’s no way you’re fitting more than 3 cables in there. Might even be less if your cables are chunky.
Also, on the rear panel of this monitor is where you’ll find the power button and a knob similar to a mini joystick. This joystick allows you to toggle or navigate through the OSD settings on the monitor.
Display and Specs
It’s a 27-Inch, with crisp 4k visuals, an IPS panel, a refresh rate of 144Hz, 1ms grey-to-grey response time, and an aspect ratio of 16:9.
Although it’s a 27-inch monitor, and to be honest, I don’t really fancy 27-inch monitors, this monitor makes up for that with other features such as its beautiful and vibrant colors.
Its IPS panel features a ~97% DCI-P3 color gamut which is similar to 130% sRGB which gives this display its well-saturated colors.
The colors of this display pop and light up beautifully as it can reach a maximum brightness of 600 nits.
Also, it features HDR10 support with VESA Display HDR 600 certification with full-array local dimming that delivers high contrast for a real HDR experience.
Although you won’t get the best HDR experience with a max brightness of 600 nits, this monitor still gives vibrant and amazing colors.
It’s great for playing games that have lots of dark scenes such as Elden Ring. It’s not perfect, but this monitor still offers sharp details and flawless image quality to give gamers an immersive gaming experience.
This monitor has 178°/178° viewing angles thanks to the IPS panel it possesses. This helps the display brightness, contrasts, and color to remain accurate when viewed from any angle.
Adaptive Sync Technology
Although the Inzone M9 is an Nvidia’s G Sync compatible monitor, it can also support AMD’s free sync. This feature makes it a perfect choice for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox gamers.
Ahh, yes!! This monitor features a ton of ports.
It features 2x HDMI 2.1 ports which offer 4k gaming at 120Hz VRR to deliver the best frame rates for smooth gaming.
It also features a DisplayPort 1.4 and a USB Type C port that can also be used as a display port.
Please note that to get the best refresh rate of 144Hz, you should use the DisplayPort. The HDMI port reaches a max refresh rate of 120Hz.
Other ports it features include 3x USB Type-A and a USB port that allows you to connect to a PC.
Also, this monitor features a KVM switch which allows you to switch between devices in case you’re connected to two different PCs. This way you’re able to control both PCs from one keyboard and mouse.
It features a headphone jack and 2x 2w speakers which to be honest ain’t really worth much.
The sound quality of the speakers is terrible. Do not expect anything great in terms of sound. Although, it’s better to have the speakers on the monitor than to not have them at all.
Also, this monitor comes with a 160w power brick, and honestly, it’s huge for a 160w. However, we’re only concerned about the performance of this monitor.
